Design a smoothie shop with this 6th-grade fraction, decimal, factors, and multiples math project. Students will practice multi-step decimal operation word problems related to their smoothie shop. They will solve fraction division word problems and find the greatest common factor and least common multiple of given numbers. Additionally, they will read about the smoothie shop business and create a logo for their company. This resource is great for 6th-grade teachers who want to engage early finishers, challenge gifted and talented students independently, or complete a whole-class project at the end of a math unit about fractions, decimals, and division.

Each section includes:

✅ Practice Pages – Reinforce whole-number division and dividing fractions by fractions through scaffolded instruction. Students can review the example strategy at the top of the page and solve increasingly difficult problems as they work with fraction, decimal, and whole-number operations.

✅ Apply Pages – Solve multi-step fraction and decimal word problems about real-world smoothie shop scenarios. Students will show their understanding of the number system.

✅ Create Pages – Students design their own smoothie flavors, menu, and company name with different elements to create and customize – like hiring employees and designing a loyalty punch card program. Then, they solve math problems using their unique set of numbers.
