Find answers to your questions about this Mother's Day Gift:

✋ One of my students doesn’t live with his mom. What variations can he make?

  • Notes are included for moms, grandmas, and aunts so all students can celebrate a special woman in their lives.

✋ Is this craft difficult?

  • This exploding box craft involves lots of cutting and folding. 4th and 5th grade students will likely have more success than students in primary grades. It can take some students 1-2 hours to complete. I recommend breaking it apart into small chunks over the course of a few class periods.

✋ What other materials will students need?

  • Students will need 3 pieces of construction paper, scissors, glue, and coloring materials. Teachers can make a class set of stencils using cardstock paper. Invite students to fill in their notes while waiting to borrow and trace a stencil.
